Mac Mini Vault provides colocation and dedicated server services, offering neutral access to the global Internet. This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs the proper use of our network, systems, and equipment. It is designed to protect the integrity and security of our services and to ensure that all users act in a lawful and ethical manner. This AUP supplements, but does not replace, the Terms of Service (ToS), which govern the contractual and financial relationship between Mac Mini Vault and its customers.
- Purpose and Scope

- Permitted Use
- Customers are permitted to use our services solely for lawful and ethical purposes.
- Our network is provided on a neutral basis; users are responsible for ensuring their activities comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Prohibited Activities
- Unauthorized Access and Security Violations:
- Any use or attempted use of any account or computer system without proper authorization is strictly prohibited. This includes “social engineering” (i.e., tricking individuals into revealing passwords), password cracking, and unauthorized vulnerability scanning or probing.
- Network Misuse:
- Running unauthorized services (e.g., a DHCP server) on our network.
- Utilizing IP addresses that are not assigned to your service.
- Email and Spam Policy:
- Sending unsolicited commercial email (spam) is prohibited.
- Specifically, any email, particularly for commercial purposes, sent to more than five recipients without their explicit consent is considered spam.
- Causing listings for our IP addresses on spam blacklists (e.g., Spamhaus) may result in immediate service suspension or termination.
- Content Restrictions:
- Transmission, processing, or storage of material that violates any Federal, State, or Local law is forbidden.
- This includes but is not limited to:
- Copyright-infringing material
- Material deemed threatening or obscene
- Content involving trade secret violations or any material that Mac Mini Vault, at its sole discretion, deems objectionable
- Data and Backup Responsibility
- Customers are solely responsible for maintaining current backups of their data.
- While Mac Mini Vault can advise on best backup practices and offer assistance, the responsibility for data protection remains with the customer.
- Bandwidth and Network Usage
- Advertised as “unlimited” in that port speed is uncapped during normal usage, and no overage fees are charged.
- Sustained heavy usage (e.g., consistently transferring 5TB+ per month) or any activity that disrupts service for other users may result in reduction of port speed to 100 Mbps, suspension or termination.
- Enforcement and Monitoring
- Mac Mini Vault reserves the right to monitor network usage to enforce this AUP.
- In cases of violation, actions may include:
- Warnings
- Limiting of port speed
- Temporary suspension of services
- Permanent termination of services
- Pursuit of civil or criminal legal remedies, as appropriate
- Modifications to the AUP
- Mac Mini Vault reserves the right to modify or update this AUP at any time.
- Customers will be notified of significant changes, and continued use of the services constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
